Leeds United are trying their best to sign AC Milan’s Noah Okafor this summer, according to multiple claims from Italy.
The forward struggled with injuries in the first half of last season and the Serie A side sent him on loan to Napoli in January. He was fit but played 36 minutes from four games for the Naples club.
Okafor has returned to the San Siro and Leeds want to secure his services in this window.
That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, and they report the 25-year-old is ‘on his way to Leeds’ as he has reached an agreement with Daniel Farke’s side.
The Whites have to agree terms with the Rossoneri to conclude the signing. Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Luca Bianchin took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report ‘negotiations are accelerating’ between the two clubs.
He adds Leeds are working on a permanent transfer and Milan, who are considering it, are yet to agree terms.
Sport Mediaset reports Milan aren’t considering a loan move and will only let him leave via a sale.
The negotiations are underway between Leeds and the Italian club, who are demanding €15-20m. According to Sport Mediaset, there’s a wide gap in valuations between the two clubs.
To sum it up, Leeds United have a deal in place with Okafor and have to find an agreement with Milan. This is the key detail that’s missing to complete the transfer.
