“A Pretty Big Issue” – Expert gives strong warning on Leeds United Premier League survival

Leeds United are preparing for their big Premier League opener against Everton at Elland Road later tonight. However, the club are also aware that they need to bring in more fresh faces to bolster their chances of keeping themselves in the top tier this season.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin joined Leeds on a free transfer towards the end of last week. The 28-year-old forward, who had more lucrative offers from Turkey, has signed a three-year contract and is eligible to be in the squad to face his former side, Everton, tonight, under the lights at Ellan Road.

The Leeds boss has stressed the importance of adding more goals and creativity to their team, as that is likely to be crucial if the Whites are to survive in their first year back in the Premier League.

Expert warns Leeds United about what they need to survive in the Premier League

Celebrated football commentator Ian Darke has pointed out that Farke has been vocal about the forwards he needs before the end of the transfer window.

He is expecting Leeds to bring in more attackers, as it is still a big issue in the squad, as they need to score goals to stay in the Premier League this season.

Darke insisted that Leeds need a couple more players in the forward line before the September 1st transfer deadline.

“He has been very vociferous; he is going public at every opportunity, telling the board that they need more attacking signings, so I think he is clearly worried about their ability to stick the ball in the back of the net”, Darke told MOT Leeds News.

“You would like to think that Leeds will bring in one or two more in that department, because if you cannot stick the ball in the back of the net, that is a pretty big issue if you are trying to stay afloat in the division.

“They have made it clear that Patrick Bamford is not part of their plans. They have let Mateo Joseph go to Real Mallorca. I would say they need a couple more signings up front, and maybe one fairly big one.”

Leeds are working on a couple of deals

The Whites are looking at several strikers and are assessing their options. However, they have moved on to try and sign a winger before the end of the window.

Despite reservations about his fitness, Leeds are in talks with AC Milan to sign Noah Okafor, who has agreed to personal terms with the club.

The Yorkshire giants are also looking to bring in an attacking midfielder, and are still monitoring Bilal El Khannouss’ situation at Leicester City.

Leeds hope that by the end of the window, they will have added enough firepower to bolster their survival chances.
