New season, same problems. Manchester United kicked off their 2025-26 Premier League campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.
By failing to find the net and shipping a goal from a set piece, it felt like déjà vu for Red Devils supporters. But as Ruben Amorim put it, they weren't 'boring' like last season.
The United manager was pleased with his team's display, as the Old Trafford faithful applauded them off at the final whistle. Supporters were on their feet watching new arrivals Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo whilst Benjamin Sesko made his bow in the second half.
Sesko's inclusion in the squad came at Rasmus Hojlund's expense, with the striker attracting attention from clubs across Europe, including AC Milan. Offloading players is United's main focus for the rest of the summer transfer window which shuts on September 1.
Here, the Daily Star Sport looks at the latest Manchester United transfer news.

Ruben Amorim has cautioned Rasmus Hojlund that he'll continue watching from the sidelines if he doesn't 'do what's required'. Hojlund, 22, was in the stands against Arsenal having been left out of the matchday squad, with Benjamin Sesko swiftly overtaking him in the pecking order.
"At United, if you don't do what's required, a team-mate will take your place," Amorim said. "I've made a lot of mistakes, but I've shown that if you deserve it, you play."
The Red Devils boss added: "He has to fight for his place. We will see what's going to happen in the market. Rasmus has the same characteristics as Ben, so sometimes we need to choose."

Roma have initiated discussions to sign Tyrell Malacia, who is eager to depart Manchester United before the transfer deadline day.
The Dutch left-back was among a group of five players who didn't join the Red Devils' pre-season tour of the USA.
Italian reports suggest that Roma enquired about the terms for signing Malacia during their negotiations with United over Jadon Sancho. Besiktas are also showing interest in the 26-year-old.

Carlos Baleba has spoken out amidst rumours of a potential move to Manchester United. Baleba, aged 21, featured in Brighton's 1-1 draw against Fulham on Saturday, just over a week after the Red Devils expressed their interest in the Cameroonian midfielder, who has been assigned a new shirt number this season.
Baleba posted on Instagram after the match: "Just me doing the thing I love most.
"Had fun playing at home with the boys. Nothing new here, just my number and a haircut."
