Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson is attracting interest from Newcastle United amid the ongoing Alexander Isak situation.
As reported by NewcastleWorld last week, the Senegalese striker is emerging as a target to replace Alexander Isak, should the Swede get his wish and join Premier League champions Liverpool.
The prospect of signing Jackson divided Newcastle’s recruitment team just a few weeks ago, but that stance appears to have softened with Isak showing no remorse in his efforts to force an exit.
In the past fortnight, Isak has been training at a separate time from his teammates and has refused to play in the friendlies against Atletico Madrid and Espanyol, and Saturday’s Premier League opening day draw away to Aston Villa.
Newcastle United aren’t the only club interested in Nicolas Jackson
Despite the player’s stance making matters extra complicated, Newcastle have stood firm and will only sell if they find a replacement and Liverpool meet their reported £150million valuation. The Reds had a £110m offer rejected on August 1 and are yet to return to the table.
Whilst the situation is still ongoing, Newcastle continue to assess the striker market, and having missed on the likes of Joao Pedro, Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Sesko, are currently discussing Jackson.
But so are other clubs, with AC Milan also showing interest in Jackson, however the Serie A giants would only be willing to do a deal at less than £69m.
Fabrizio Romano issues Nicolas Jackson update
Providing an update on his YouTube channel, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano said: “Nicolas Jackson is expected to leave Chelsea. The decision is okay on both the player and club side so still looking for opportunities. There was some interest from Newcastle but still no bid. Still some interest from Premier League clubs in active conversations for Jackson.
“Keep an eye also on Italy as a possibility for Nicholas Jackson because Jackson, if you remember I told you that in July, was in the list of AC Milan already at the beginning of July. He remains a player appreciated by someone at AC Milan.
“Let me explain that Milan will sign a striker this summer for sure in these final two weeks. Rasmus Hojland is an option on loan with my option, also Dusan Vlahovic is an option being considered but also another option could be Nicholas Jackson in case the conditions of the deal are acceptable for Milan.

“Milan will never pay 80 or 90 million euros for Jackson. So if all conditions of the deal are good and, Milan can sit at the table and go for Jackson. At the moment Milan has been informed that Jackson could be potentially still available on the market as they didn't find any solution since beginning of July to today.
“So many clubs are interested but still no decision made and so Milan are aware of the situation. Milan love Nicholas Jackson, consider him as a fantastic striker but at the moment the financial point is the crucial one to understand if it's going to be happening or not.
“So Jackson, Hojland, Vlahovi, all these names for Milan but Jackson in general remains a case to watch for Premier League clubs, Milan only if the conditions from Chelsea change because they will not pay 80 million euros for Nicholas Jackson.”
