Bucs rookie corner Benjamin Morrison seemed to be turning the corner in Bucs training camp. Then, he suffered a hamstring injury. At the time of the injury, Joe was told Morrison would miss all of preseason.
Todd Bowles was asked about Morrison’s status in his day-after press conference on Sunday. He surprised Joe by explaining Morrison [missing weeks of practice and preseason is no big deal](https://www.joebucsfan.com/2025/08/todd-bowles-is-no-bruce-arians-with-rookies/).
> “I don’t think it’s a huge setback,” Bowles said. “He watches film all the time, comes in early, and puts the tape on. He wants to learn.
> “It’s just about physically going through the reps. Mentally, he goes through them. He’s not a guy to just sit in the training room and be hurt. He’s trying to get better at all the little things, so when he comes back, he’s ready to go.”
So Bowles didn’t exactly rule out Morrison playing in Week 1 at Atlanta, provided his hamstring is ready to go.
> “We think he’ll be ready,” Bowles said. “We won’t have any problem putting him in when we need to put him in.”
That’s great that Bowles has confidence in the rookie. Joe’s question is, can Morrison play safety?
