Everton and Al-Ahli are in the mix to sign Benfica’s Florentino Luís this summer, according to Monday’s edition of A Bola.
The midfielder has been linked to the Toffees for over a year, with those rumours being encouraged again recently.
On July 17th, claims from Portugal indicated Enzo Barrenechea’s arrival at Benfica could help Everton sign Florentino. Later that month, journalist Gianluigi Longari reported David Moyes’ side, Burnley and Leeds United have asked about him.
A Bola mentions the Merseyside club’s interest when covering the latest on his future.
The Saudi club could see former AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessié return to Italy and have identified Florentino as a target to replace him.
Al-Ahli are said to have contacted the Eagles to find out the conditions needed to sign the player but haven’t made an offer yet.
From Italy, Juventus, AS Roma and Napoli have shown keen interest in Florentino, and from England, Everton are in the picture. The Premier League side are keeping an eye on his situation.
Benfica are open to negotiating his sale and had originally wanted €30m. A Bola now believe that €20m plus bonuses would be enough.
Everton could be set for a tussle with Al-Ahli and other clubs to sign Florentino.
