Wolves have lost a crucial partnership up top for this season, as Matheus Cunha departed earlier in the window for Manchester United.
The Brazilian and Jorgen Strand Larsen formed an excellent relationship that resulted in the pair scoring a combined 29 goals throughout the league last season.
Strand Larsen has since joined the club on a permanent deal, but he will have to go this season without his former attacking partner.
Of course, Vitor Pereira has brought in Jhon Arias and Fer Lopez, who will also look to fill the void left by Cunha.
However, the Norwegian has now made an interesting claim about a player who was already at the club last season that he is looking to build a similar relationship with.

Jorgen Strand Larsen reveals potential Marshall Munetsi strike partnership
Before joining Wolves in January 2025, Marshall Munetsi played a majority of his games as a central or defensive midfielder.
However, Vitor Pereira has seemed to profile the Zimbabwean differently. The former Stade de Reims man has more or less exclusively been deployed in attacking positions at the Old Gold, playing just 92 minutes in his familiar central midfield position.
Of course, by playing further forward, Munetsi has started to build better relationships with the attacking players, and Jorgen Strand Larsen has delivered a claim about their partnership.

Speaking to the Express and Star following the Manchester City defeat, Strand Larsen says that Munetsi can help him “play [his] football a little more.”
The Norwegian goes on to reveal a potentially interesting dynamic between the two, saying, “He (Munetsi) can be the target man up top and I can also be kind of a playmaker, sometimes drop into different positions. I think we have a good relationship.”
Marshall Munetsi might not be the best option for Wolves
While there is no doubt that Marshall Munetsi is a hard-working player, his attacking numbers leave little to be happy about.
Typically a midfielder throughout his career, the 29-year-old doesn’t possess that natural instinct in the final third.
His overall numbers for the club since joining are not the best, and he has only contributed to three goals in 17 appearances so far.

With the likes of Jhon Arias and Fer Lopez needing time to adapt, Munetsi could be a good short-term option, seeing as Strand Larsen enjoys playing alongside him.
However, in the long run, Vitor Pereira will need to swap him out for players who can be more decisive in the opposition’s half.
