According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has rejected Italian side AS Roma’s offer and is not in talks with Turkish outfit Besiktas.
Manager Ruben Amorim has told Sancho, alongside other out-of-favour players, that they no longer have a future at the club. Unsurprisingly, he was excluded from the matchday squad for yesterday’s Premier League clash with Arsenal at Old Trafford.
Sancho was initially open to a move to Roma, who were prepared to submit a loan offer plus an obligation to buy at £20 million for him.
However, his agent has now informed Gian Piero Gasperini’s side that they will not be accepting their proposal and wants to consider other offers, forcing the Italian side to move on to other targets.
Romano also claims that Sancho is not in talks with Besiktas as he would not consider an offer from Turkey until late in the transfer window.
The Black and Whites are keen on signing the 25-year-old, although club President Serdal Adali has admitted that it will be difficult to sign him because of lack of Champions League football.
The reliable transfer expert’s report directly contradicts that of Spanish outlet AS, who had earlier claimed that the England international was close to joining Besiktas and the Turkish club had already prepared a video announcing his signature.
Man United are still determined to sell the English forward and would listen to offers similar to Roma’s.
Juventus and Borussia Dortmund have been strongly linked with him. The Old Lady had reportedly agreed on personal terms with him but did not make a formal proposal to United, while the Bundesliga outfit have yet to make any concrete move for him.
With Roma ruled out and no formal talks with Besiktas yet, Sancho’s future would likely be resolved late in the transfer window.
