**A popular Liverpool player’s exit from the club is now “expected to accelerate” in the remaining weeks of the transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.**
This has been one of the busiest summers in many years at Anfield, with a host of elite players brought in, and numerous heroes leaving the club.
There is still time for more incoming and outgoing business to happen, however, with Alexander Isak remaining a target from Newcastle United, and Crystal Palace defender Marc Guhi continuing to be linked with a move to Liverpool.
In terms of those who are expected to leave, Ben Doak is reportedly on the verge of sealing a move to Bournemouth, with the Reds not seeing a long-term future for him.
Now, Romano has taken to [_X_](https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1957206374632616245) to claim that Kostas Tsimikas is also expected to depart before the window slams shut on September 1st, having dropped to third in the left-back pecking order:
_“Kostas Tsimikas exit, expected to accelerate as Liverpool could also open to potential initial loan proposals. The left back is prepared to leave as Kerkez and Andy Robertson will be the LBs for Arne Slot.”_
**The logical time for Tsimikas to leave Liverpool**
----------------------------------------------------
Milos Kerkez’s arrival at Liverpool ultimately paved the way for Tsimikas’ exit this summer, with Arne Slot not in need of three left-backs in his squad.
For that reason, now is the perfect time for the 29-year-old to find a new challenge, even though [Jurgen Klopp](https://www.rousingthekop.com/2023/11/13/jurgen-klopp-now-delivers-his-honest-verdict-on-kostas-tsimikas-display-for-liverpool-against-brentford/) spoke of his admiration for him in the past, saying:
_“We all know how good Kostas can be, but now he has the opportunity. The first performance maybe isn’t great, then you start thinking, I can only help the boys. You cannot change it. Most of the work the boys have to do themselves. Then you saw the first assist, it just opened up and then it’s football again that’s how it goes. Super important and really happy for him. The situation is not always easy when Robbo is fit and today you can see again how good a player he is.”_
Barring injuries to both Kerkez and Andy Robertson, it is hard to see Tsimikas earning much playing time at all this season, and given the point in his career he has reached, he needs to be featuring regularly.
The Greek will be remembered as a popular figure who the fans liked, with his FA Cup-winning penalty against Chelsea in the final shootout in 2022 a standout moment for him.
