Shilo Sanders, rookie safety for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has plenty of expectations on his shoulders after two unimpressive performances this preseason. While his numbers may not have been so great in those games, it looks like head coach Todd Bowles still expects explosive plays from the talented safety.
Sanders has been massively called out for his terrible numbers in the first two preseason games, with the safety managing only one tackle in the first game and two in the second matchup. The second son of Deion ‘Coach Prime’ Sanders clearly has much to prove in the third preseason matchup against the Buffalo Bills next weekend.

“Shilo’s very aggressive, very young, very hungry. He can make plays in the box, and we know he can run down and give us 100% on special teams. This last week is going to be very important for those guys to show up.” Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach,Todd Bowles, spokeabout Shilo Sanders to reporters after the second preseason game.

While others may be hating on Shilo Sanders for not doing too well in the first two preseason games, the rookie safety is pretty happy with his performance. In his conversation with reporters, Sanders admitted that he made a few mistakes in the last two games but hopes to do a lot more in the upcoming game next weekend.

Shilo Sanders Accepts His Mistakes And Is Willing To move On
In his conversation with reporters after the second preseason game, Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie safety Shilo Sanders hoped to score better in the third game before the regular season can kick off. For Sanders, the third preseason game will determine whether or not he manages to make it to the Buccaneers roster.
“It felt good. Thank you, God, for putting me in position to even be on the field. I feel like I left some big hits on the table. Next game will be some improvements on my angles, on my tracking because you don’t really get to work on it in an NFL practice, or you’re gonna get kicked out of practice. Seeing a game for the first time in a long time did some good things. It is what it is.” Shilo Sanders said.
Not only Shilo Sanders, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are eager to churn out an impressive performance this season, after their last one ended in a wild card defeat. Bucs fans will be keeping their fingers crossed for the first game against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1.
