Belief Manchester United better placed to sign midfielder – Can blow Juventus out the water

Manchester United are said to have joined Juventus in the chase for Sporting’s Morten Hjulmand this summer.

The Red Devils are reportedly looking for a new midfielder after giving up on Brighton & Hove Albion’s Carlos Baleba.

Recent claims in the UK have mentioned Hjulmand as an option for Manchester United. Tuttosport, after relaying that, give their take on the possibility of the 26-year-old moving to Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim managed the Denmark international at Sporting and knows what he can offer. The Premier League club are said to be looking at him and working out the possibility of a deal.

Earlier this month, Corrire dell Sport reported Juve want to offload Douglas Luiz and then focus on Hjulmand. Their plan has been to try to sign the Sporting player on the cheap.

The Serie A club have been chasing the midfielder for a while but have refused to pay the €80m requested by the Lions, with their idea being to part with less than half of that amount.

Tuttosport say Juve consider Sporting’s valuation to be too high, but it may not scare Manchester United. In other words, the newspaper believes Manchester United are better placed than the Old Lady to sign the Dane.

The coming days will be crucial to understand whether Amorim’s side will make advances for Hjulmand.

Juve have been trying to sign him for a fee much lower than Sporting’s demand and will stand no chance of securing his services if Manchester United were to make a move.
