Newcastle United ‘frontrunners’ to sign striker – Club make new contact but not looking promising

Earlier this month, Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl made it clear the German club has never spoken to Chelsea for Nicolas Jackson. Now, Newcastle United are emerging as key candidates to sign the striker.

This information comes from Calciomercato’s Daniele Longo, who reports AC Milan have made fresh contact for the Senegal international

This happened over the weekend before the Italian club beat Bari in the Coppa Italia. Club sporting director Igli Tare spoke to the 24-year-old’s entourage to know about the terms of the move.

The striker is open to the transfer but Longo reports that a move to the San Siro is unlikely for Jackson, with Newcastle United the ‘frontrunners’ to sign the Chelsea player.

The Magpies are yet to make a move but their competition could be lagging behind in the race.

The report claims that a loan deal could be possible for Newcastle United, as Jackson’s entourage is hoping Chelsea open up to the possibility of a loan in the next few days.

Everything hinges on Alexander Isak’s future at St James’ Park. If he departs, only then would a move for Jackson make sense.
