Recent departure Matheus Cunha made his first competitive appearance for Man United on Sunday, again topping one stat he was known for at Wolves.
Man United lost to Arsenal at the weekend in what was a cagey affair at Old Trafford.
A solitary corner goal from Arsenal was enough to settle what was an underwhelming edition of a historic tie.
It was a first Premier League appearance for Matheus Cunha since joining the Red Devils, and it looks like one thing he was known for at Wolves won’t be any different at his new club.
Matheus Cunha walked more than any player during Man United debut against Arsenal
Cunha was pure footballing magic for Wolves last season, deciding a number of games with moments of individual brilliance.
Despite the adoration he received for his efforts, there was one aspect of his game that frustrated Wolves fans. Cunha walked the most of any Premier League player last season.

According to FotMob, it was much the same in his Old Trafford debut. The Brazilian topped the charts for distance walked against Arsenal, beating even David Raya and Altay Bayindir in goal.
The lack of effort out of possession is something Vitor Pereira called Cunha out on last season, and his new manager, Ruben Amorim, may need to have a similar conversation.
Man United fans were impressed by Matheus Cunha’s debut
Despite Cunha’s trademark strolling and United’s disappointing result, the reception from fans towards Cunha was mostly positive.
He and Bryan Mbeumo already look like they can elevate Amorim’s attack, with the two combining well over the 90 minutes.

Cunha was eager to drive forward with the ball, and came agonisingly close to a debut goal but for a phenomenal Raya save.
Wolves missed Cunha against Man City and will likely continue to do so throughout the season. Despite the frustration caused by his apparent lack of effort, we’d much rather see him walking around in the Old Gold colours than in red.
