This summer transfer window has addressed a lot of problems Leeds United had last year. The Whites have been able to add serious quality and depth across most areas of the squad.
Ethan Ampadu had to fill in at center back during the last campaign, Leeds have now added Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw this summer. Junior Firpo left and the club replaced him with Gabriel Gudmundsson. Daniel Farke also bolstered the midfield with the additions of Sean Longstaff and Anton Stach.

Fans and pundits alike have had their say on Dominic Calvert-Lewin joining Leeds last week. Many had mixed opinions on the move and how it would go. Now, former Rangers and Scottish football legend has weighed in on the issue. To him, Calvert-Lewin will have a similar impact on this team like Luke Shaw does on Manchester United.
“That’s it, isn’t it [whether we can stay fit]. I’ve no doubt he can score goals, he is a good player. But my problem with it is his fitness.” he said on Talksport.
“We spoke about Luke Shaw, Man United are a far better team when he plays. It is the same with Calvert-Lewin and Leeds. If he’s fit, he will play but there is that question mark. I just hope that he can stay fit.”
How important will the former Everton man be this season?
Daniel Farke addressed the signing of the 28-year old on Friday. To the Leeds boss the main thing he he wants up top is a player with experience at this level:
”Dominic is a proven Premier League player. Its important for all new signings, we want to sign players who have delivered on a top level, but they are also in a good age, on their way up the hill, not the way down.”
Even if he does not score goals, his presence will be a handful. Having played in the Premier League regularly, he knows the small details – winning fouls and free kicks, beating the defenders to goal, etc. A lot of these will count in important situations this season, and hopefully Leeds will capitalize on that.
