Aston Villa Football Club honoured Ozzy Osbourne at their Premier League opener against Newcastle United at Villa Park on Saturday 16th August.
Ozzy, who was raised in Aston, died last month just 17 days after his final show at Black Sabbath’s star-studded Back to the Beginning concert at Villa Park.
At Villa’s first home game since Ozzy’s passing on Saturday, a video tribute was shown on the big screens immediately after the players’ warmup.
Shortly before kick-off at 12.30pm, the Aston Villa and Newcastle players walked onto the pitch to the sounds of Ozzy Osbourne’s ‘Crazy Train’ performance from Back to the Beginning.

On the external wall of the Holte Pub by Villa Park, Aston Villa unveiled a new ‘OZZY FOREVER’ mural based on the Ozzy tifo displayed at the club’s Champions League game against Celtic last season.
A book of condolence was also available to sign in the Villa Store, and the matchday programme featured a picture of Ozzy walking up the Holte End steps alongside other supporters.
The club said: ‘Aston Villa is proud to remember Ozzy Osbourne, a music legend, and his connection to our club.’
Earlier today it was announced that the BBC’s documentary film Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home had been pulled from the TV schedule without explanation.
