Man United want to land Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoume. The Red Devils continue their hunt for fresh firepower in midfield.
Sevilla star Agoume emerges as Man United target
With the clock ticking down in the summer window, **Man Utd**’s team are weighing up a move for Lucien Agoume. After a great run in La Liga, the Frenchman has started to catch the eye. His energy, capacity to win the ball and ability to disrupt attacking play made him one of Sevilla’s safe pair of hands.
Reports in Spain suggest United view him as a more realistic signing than Brighton’s Carlos Baleba. His price tag has turned transfer talks into a dead end. Having pulled the plug on that chase, the club are now watching Agoume closely.
With his current contract to the year 2028, that’s going to cost Sevilla dearly. But, the Red Devils are serious about their interest and need to boost the midfield department.

Midfield reinforcement a priority
Ruben Amorim’s squad has already seen heavy investment up front. But, there’s still a need for a new midfielder in the team. That’s why there is such a big push for a strong defensive midfielder. Agoume played in 35 league games last year and had four goal contributions. That shows his form over the course of a season when Sevilla narrowly avoided relegation.
United would love a player like Agoume, who can dictate the tempo and shield the backline. Amorim could see Agoume as a player able to take on the PL. Meanwhile, exits at Old Trafford are likely, including the sale of Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho. So, United’s sole focus at present is to fill the gaps before the deadline.
If the transfer is completed, Agoume would be seen as one of the more interesting signings of this summer. That will give United both depth and robustness in an area of the pitch they clearly need.
