The New Orleans Pelicans are adding a small forward to their roster.
The Pelicans have agreed to a deal with Jalen McDaniels, according to a report by ESPN insider Shams Charania.
McDaniels is entering his seventh NBA season after being selected in the second round of the 2019 draft by the Charlotte Hornets. He is the older brother of Jaden McDaniels, a key player for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Jalen McDaniels played his first 3 ½ seasons with the Hornets before being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in his fourth season. He signed with the Toronto Raptors the following season. Last season, he signed a 10-day contract with the Washington Wizards.
He is averaging 6.7 points and 3.3 rebounds in his career. His best season was his fourth season when he averaged 9.4 points and 4.3 rebounds when he split time with the Hornets and 76ers.
