Draymond Green Calls Out ‘Internet Experts’ After Heat Trade

The Miami Heat recently traded Haywood Highsmith to the Brooklyn Nets for a 2026 second-round draft pick.

The move was made to get the Heat under the luxury tax, helping out their financial position in the season ahead.

After the trade, Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors hopped on social media to discuss the trade and poke fun at some people who viewed Highsmith as better than Jimmy Butler.

“Y’all (internet experts) wanted Jimmy to come off the bench behind dude, and 5 months later The Heat traded him for a bag of chips. That’s wild,” Green wrote, via NBACentral.

Highsmith averaged 6.5 points and 3.4 rebounds on the court last season for the Heat, shooting 45.8 percent from the field and 38.2 percent from the three-point line.

He was playing in the midst of all the drama surrounding Butler and the Heat.

At that time, a lot of Miami fans felt that Butler should be on the bench.

In fact, many of them felt he should just be pulled out of games entirely because of his bad attitude and lack of commitment to the team.

Is Highsmith actually a better player, or were people just burned by Butler’s actions?

In the end, Butler made his way to the Warriors with Green, and now Highsmith is headed to the Nets.

This message from Green is a testament to how much he values his new teammate and how much he dislikes the NBA fans who think they know better than everyone else.

It’s a bold take and completely expected from Green.
