**Newcastle United are desperate for a striker to come in this summer, and that was never more apparent than on Saturday when the Magpies dominated for large parts of the game against Aston Villa but weren't able to capitalise.**
It had been expected by many journalists that once Brentford brought in Dango Ouattara from Bournemouth, they would then open talks with Newcastle over a move for Yoane Wissa.
Figures between £30 million and £40 million have been doing the rounds for a while now, but since Dango Ouattara's arrival, Brentford have slapped a £60 million price tag on the want-away striker.
Wissa had left Brentford's pre-season camp in Portugal earlier in the summer and had been training on his own after telling Brentford he would not play for them again.

Yoane Wissa is going nuclear
Brentford are playing hardball over Yoane Wissa

The news that Ouatarra's arrival was to replace Bryan Mbeumo, who went to Manchester United, coupled with the sudden fee increase, feels like a move by Brentford to block Wissa's exit, something that the player doesn't seem to have taken too well.
Yoane Wissa has removed any evidence of Brentford from his [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/yowissa/) account. At the time of writing, Wissa's profile picture is just black, and all of his content is either things from his personal life or representing DR Congo.
Brentford know Newcastle are desperate and is trying to exploit that fact. We can't really blame them. They're in the same situation as us with Alexander Isak, and it's not a nice place to be.
Yoane Wissa isn't doing himself any favours

This honestly feels very petty by Wissa. Erasing Brentford from his Instagram doesn't erase history. There's still plenty out there to show that he was, and indeed still is, a Brentford player.
It's moves like this that really make us question if Wissa is the right signing for us.
The problem is, of course, that our options at this point are so limited, especially given that we effectively need two strikers through the door in the next two weeks, that we can't really afford to let it derail us.
