Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has been linked with a surprise switch to Fulham.

The arrival of Benjamin Sesko at Old Trafford from RB Leipzig this summer has seen Hojlund fall out of favour at United. The Danish international was an unused substitute for United's final pre-season friendly against Fiorentina and was left out of their squad entirely for Sunday's season opener at home to Arsenal.

Hojlund arrived in August 2023 but has struggled to become the consistent goalscorer Ruben Amorim and his predecessor Erik ten Hag have badly needed. The former Atalanta forward scored 16 goals in his first season but only managed 10 last term.

AC Milan and Juventus have been most heavily linked in recent weeks, but a potential stay in the Premier League has now emerged. The Independent claim that United's next opponents, Fulham, are showing interest in the 22-year-old.

It is reported that the possibility of Rodrigo Muniz leaving the London club could see them move for the striker. It has been suggested that United will want £40m for Hojlund.

The young forward will get a good look at his potential new team when United travel to Craven Cottage on Sunday (4:30pm kick off UK time). While any chance of him featuring against Marco Silva's side is extremely unlikely, he will be able to assess what Fulham could offer.

Silva's men began the new season on Saturday with a 1-1 draw at Brighton & Hove Albion and needed a stoppage-time equaliser to rescue a point.

It means both United and Fulham will be chasing their first three points of the 2025/26 campaign this weekend, and Hojlund will surely be watching with interest if the Cottagers' interest is genuine. There could yet be a redemption arc in English football for a player who has often looked out of his depth during a turbulent period at M16.
