Liverpool target Marc Guehi has ignited fresh transfer rumours amongst supporters following Crystal Palace's stalemate with Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.

The centre-back was included in Oliver Glasner's starting lineup for their clash at Stamford Bridge despite ongoing doubts surrounding his future. The Merseyside giants are eager to secure his signature in the remaining fortnight of the transfer window.

Guehi has fewer than 12 months left on his Palace deal, meaning the south London club could be forced to cash in during this window to prevent losing him for nothing next summer.

Following his captain's armband duties in the Eagles' Community Shield triumph over Liverpool last weekend, Guehi featured for the full 90 minutes in Palace's scoreless draw with Chelsea. Post-match, Glasner praised Guehi's commitment alongside Eberechi Eze, who remains a Tottenham target.

"There's a lot of rumours about Eberechi and Marc Guehi, but I think everyone who watched the game saw they're 100% with this group, with this group and it's what we expect from our players that they give 100%," he told Sky Sports.

"We rely on each other and they proved it in a brilliant way."

Sky Sports have subsequently released footage which appears to show Guehi blanking Glasner at the final whistle. The Palace boss was heard calling the defender's name repeatedly as he made his way towards the tunnel.

Guehi was seen shaking his head at Glasner before heading towards the tunnel. Glasner then seemed to turn to the travelling fans and engage in a conversation with Jean-Philippe Mateta about the defender.

The ECHO revealed this week that negotiations are underway for Palace skipper Guehi - with the potential transfer viewed as separate from the £26m acquisition of young Italian defender Giovanni Leoni.

Palace face losing two of their most-prized assets before the window closes with Eze heavily tipped to move to Tottenham.
