Matt O'Riley has expressed his bewilderment over the escalating rumours linking him with a £30million transfer to Juventus.
The former Celtic star is adamant that he has no plans to leave Brighton, managed by Fabian Hurzeler, especially after scoring in their 1-1 draw against Fulham on Saturday.
O'Riley kicked off the match for the Seagulls with a penalty goal, before Rodrigo Muniz equalised in injury time. He firmly denies any agreement to move to Juventus in the upcoming summer.
Numerous reports from Italy suggest that the Turin-based club will make a move for the Danish international if they manage to remove Douglas Luiz from their payroll before the transfer window shuts.
When questioned directly about the Juventus speculation, O'Riley stated: "I'm very happy here. I'm having fun. That's all I know at the moment. I did go to Fabian in pre-season to reiterate I am here as a Brighton player to help the team as much as possible. I was aware there was a lot of noise around me and I think that helps just settle the situation in general.", reports [the Daily Record](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/matt-oriley-dumbfounded-transfer-claim-35748389).
In-form O'Riley followed up his end-of-season penalty with another against Fulham, but concedes there are no guarantees he will continue to be the designated penalty taker.
O'Riley added: "We've got a few takers. If Danny's on the pitch as well he can take them I have respect for him. If he wanted to take it, that's fine ."
