Romano Names The "Very Talented Goalkeeper" That Man United May Look To Sign Before The Transfer Window Shuts

**Man United could pursue a move for Royal Antwerp shot-stopper Senne Lammens to strengthen their options in goal, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.**

There has been plenty of speculation after [**Andre Onana**](https://manunews.com/blog/man-united-transfer-news-david-de-gea/) missed the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal, which also saw his replacement Altay Bayindir make a mistake for the Gunners’ winner. Discussing whether the Red Devils will go into the market for a new No.1 before the transfer window closes, Romano said:

“A goalkeeper they still and will still keep an eye on is Senne Lammens, the goalkeeper of Royal Antwerp. He is a very talented goalkeeper, Belgian, United have been monitoring him for a long time. This interest remains.”

“I think if Manchester United decide between now and the end of the window to invest in a goalkeeper, Lammens is the goalkeeper they like. He could be a possibility. Donnarumma, they are aware of the situation, but Man City are in concrete talks to sign him. At the moment, for Manchester United this is the situation but still nothing imminent as of now with Onana accepting the decision of Ruben Amorim.”

How much would Lammens cost?

----------------------------

It is believed that Antwerp would want around €20m (£17m) for the Belgian international, which is a fee that United could afford, especially if they can offload Jadon Sancho.

Serie A side Roma are prepared to pay around £20m for the winger, but the deal is currently being held up by Sancho’s salary demands. If that can be resolved, it would free up some funds for a new keeper.

Why won’t Man United go after Donnarumma?

-----------------------------------------

Some may point to the fact that Lammens is only slightly less expensive than the Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper who is also on the market this summer. Reports suggest that the Italian will be sold for a fee between £25m and £35m.

However, as Romano mentions, Donnarumma is also attracting interest from Manchester City, while it has been suggested that he wants a wage of around £250,000 a week.
