Welcome to our live coverage of Everton's Premier League opener. The Blues kick-off their campaign against newly promoted Leeds United tonight (8pm).
The two teams have had to sit back and watch as the rest of their rivals got their seasons up and running over the weekend. But this evening it's all about the action at what is sure to be a red-hot Elland Road.
Leeds won promotion back to top-flight last season by winning the Championship with 100 points and they have bolstered their squad with 10 new signings including , who left in the summer at the end of his contract.
The Blues have replaced the England international with Thierno Barry - one of seven new arrivals . The highest profile of which is undoubtedly Jack Grealish, who has joined on a season-long loan from Manchester City.
With Grealish having not featured in pre-season, it will be interesting to see if the mercurial midfielder starts this evening. But Everton manager ' biggest concern comes in defence with already ruled out and a serious doubt.
