This Is Us Reunion: Mandy Moore to Star in Dan Fogelman’s NFL Drama at Hulu

This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman has recruited a familiar face for his forthcoming NFL series at Hulu: Mandy Moore, who played matriarch Rebecca Pearson on the NBC family drama, has joined the as-yet-untitled project as a series regular, Deadline reports.

Moore will play Lauren, the daughter and heir of NFL team owner Hank Durkin (played by William H. Macy). The duo will star opposite Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: Organized Crime), who plays the team’s head coach.

First announced in October, the NFL drama will be written and executive-produced by Fogelman. Plot details are being kept under wraps as of now, but sources describe it as a sprawling drama set inside the world of the NFL with a generational family component. Though the project does not officially have a title, TVLine has reported that it’s tentatively called 17 Sundays.

Fogelman previously recruited Moore’s This Is Us co-star Sterling K. Brown to lead another Hulu drama, the Emmy-nominated Paradise, which just wrapped production on Season 2 and is awaiting a premiere date.

Moore, along with Brown and Chris Sullivan, continues to host the This Is Us rewatch podcast That Was Us, which releases new episodes every Tuesday.
