The Browns sign former Bama wide out Isaiah Bond

Former Alabama and Texas Longhorns wide receiver Isaiah Bond signed with the Cleveland Browns on Monday.

Bond was expected to go high in the NFL Draft, but legal troubles plagued him before the draft, which made him a free agent.

Now that his legal troubles are behind him, he was able to sign with the Browns for just over $3 million.

In his college career at both Alabama and Texas, Bond amassed over 1400 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns.

The play that probably got him the biggest attention was his tip-toe touchdown catch he had against Auburn in the [2023 Iron Bowl](https://www.espn.com/college-football/game/_/gameId/401520427/alabama-auburn) on a 4th down throw from Jalen Milroe that lifted the Tide to victory and eventually to an SEC Championship.

But soon after their loss to Michigan in the College Football Playoff, there were rumblings that Bond wanted out of Tuscaloosa and Nick Saban’s retirement in January of 2024, provided that outlet for Bond to leave.

Bond was expected to play a huge part in the Alabama offense last year, but he decided to move on to Texas, where his numbers fell due mainly because of injuries. More NIL money also seems to be another reason why Bond left Tuscaloosa for Austin.

Soon afterwards, Bond was seen on private jets and showing off his new car once he arrived in Austin, indicating his new lifestyle.

Bond also said at the time that leaving Tuscaloosa was a [“business decision”](https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39307337/business-decision-alabama-wr-isaiah-bond-commits-texas) and that he wanted to play with quarterback Quinn Ewers, seemingly taking a shot at former Bama teammate, Jalen Milroe.

He also knew that with freshman phenom Ryan Williams coming in, the offense may focus more on him and not Bond, which may have also contributed to his decision to leave.
