Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak situation remains unchanged, with the forward not set to leave unless a replacement is found.
The clock is ticking for Newcastle United and Alexander Isak, with two weeks to go before the summer transfer window closes.
The 25-year-old will hope that he is away from St James’ Park by the time 1st September passes, but that will only happen if the Magpies sign a striker to take his place.
That is proving to be difficult, with Nicolas Jackson on Newcastle’s radar. He is an option for Eddie Howe, but it has been reported that Newcastle have reservations about Jackson.

Nicolas Jackson could be available on loan
The price tag could be an issue. Newcastle will not want to overspend on Jackson, while Chelsea are outstanding sellers and will want to make a strong profit on a player who cost £32million two years ago.
However, there is a chance that the Senegalese forward could be available on a temporary deal.
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, agents are hoping that Chelsea will become open to the possibility of letting Jackson leave Stamford Bridge on loan.
Calciomercato are reporting on the Jackson situation as AC Milan are interested, but they add that Newcastle United are currently the ‘frontrunners’ to secure his signature.

The 24-year-old has not featured for Chelsea this season, having been suspended for their 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday.
Why a loan deal for Nicolas Jackson could suit Newcastle United better
A permanent deal for Jackson as Isak’s replacement would be a risk for Newcastle. While he is a talented player who has untapped potential, he is nowhere near Isak’s level.
However, a loan deal could be more appealing. It would give Eddie Howe more time to assess the situation, without leaving themselves short in attack.
The one caveat would be that it would need to be a loan deal with an option to buy, rather than an obligation. Otherwise Newcastle would just be delaying a deal until next year.
Adding Jackson to the Newcastle United squad on loan would give the Magpies a chance to try before they buy, which could be a smart way of going about things so late in the window.
But Chelsea also need to be factored into this, as the likelihood is they will only let Jackson leave on loan if it includes an obligation to buy. They want to get rid, and will not want to have to readdress his situation next summer.
