The Jacksonville Jaguars have put together an interesting wide receiver corps. After his Pro Bowl-worthy rookie season, Brian Thomas, Jr. clearly reigns at the top of the depth chart. Newly drafted rookie Travis Hunter and recently acquired fifth-year veteran Dyami Brown will likely hold spots two and three—even if their particular order is yet to be decided.
While that may place Parker Washington as the clear No. 4, his performance at camp has been consistent enough to receive praise from his coaches and the national media. Now, he's adding game time production to the equation—he caught two passes for nineteen yards, along with a scrambling, tackle-evading performance that led to the game's first touchdown.
In a preseason game where the Jaguars' first-team offense only played two series, that's huge.

Jaguars oaches and media sing Parker Washington's praise
Head coach Liam Coen spoke about Washington's performance during his presser after the Week 2 preseason tie with New Orleans. And while he mentioned the third-year veteran's performance in the Saints' game, he also spoke of his play during camp.
"He just consistently keeps competing at a high level," Coen said (2:42 mark). "It's every day [that] he makes a play, every day he's in the right spot at the right time, working his tail off. I love his play energy, [and] he doesn't really fatigue that much. He's in great physical shape. I've been very pleased with Parker."

John Shipley of Sports Illustrated also sang the praises of Washington, pointing out that he and fellow 2023 draft pick Brenton Strange have shown noticeable improvement.
"Arguably, the two most impressive players for the Jaguars' first-team offense were a pair of third-year veterans from Penn State," Shipley said. "Parker Washington and Brenton Strange each took their game up a level in 2024, and it looks like they are set to do it again. Washington scored the first touchdown of the first-team offense's preseason after a nice move after the catch, while Strange moved the chains twice on a pair of impressive catches."
That's a lot of praise coming from a lot of directions, especially considering the potential depth the Jaguars have at receiver. It's this kind of confidence that allowed the team to part with both wide receiver Christian Kirk and tight end Evan Engram.

Final word
The Jaguars might have one of the quietest wide receiver rooms in the league, yet they also have a chance to make it one of the best. Washington is making a case to be yet another go-to target on a team that seems filled with them, especially if quarterback Trevor Lawrence continues playing like he did against the Saints.
