### **Cleveland Browns: Isaiah Bond Signs After Charges Against Him Are Dropped**

As of Monday morning, the Browns [hadn’t named their starting quarterback for Week 1](https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/breaking-news/article/browns-to-name-starting-qb-ahead-of-preseason-finale-amid-battle-in-cleveland-195759284.html). However, they did add a new weapon to their passing attack.

Rookie receiver Isaiah Bond, who was bypassed in the draft after being arrested in April, signed with Cleveland on Monday, [the Browns announced](https://www.clevelandbrowns.com/news/browns-sign-wr-isaiah-bond) after sexual assault charges against him were dropped.

Many scouts projected Bond as a potential Day 2 pick prior to his legal issues. He caught 34 passes for 540 yards and five touchdowns in 14 games with Texas last season. Bond will compete in a Cleveland wide receiver room led by Jerry Jeudy that also includes Jamari Thrash, Cedric Tillman, and Diontae Johnson.

General Manager Andrew Berry said Bond was thoroughly vetted before being signed.

"We have done extensive research that includes but is not limited to hearing from both sides of the case and receiving the results of an independently administered polygraph test," Berry said. "It is these touchpoints and more that gave us the necessary insights to make this decision. With his legal matter resolved through a no bill by a grand jury, Isaiah is focused on learning from this experience while moving forward with his life and career."
