Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo falls behind NBA legend in recent ranking

The NBA has seen plenty of great players over the past few years, but not many compare to Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Considering the Milwaukee Bucks’ current position, they have been doing everything they can this offseason to ensure Antetokounmpo sticks around for the long haul. While it’s been a tough road to persuade the two-time MVP to stick around, any moves that keep him in Milwaukee would be well worth the effort.

That sentiment was proven again in [CBS Sports](https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/nba-all-quarter-century-teams-lebron-kobe-steph-are-locks-but-center-and-power-forward-debates-get-tricky/)’ recent article featuring its All-Quarter Century teams. Antetokounmpo landed as the second-team power forward, but it’s hard to be too upset about his placement.

Trailing Only a Legend

When folks think about the power forward position, typically one name pops up before all the rest. Of course, that name is Tim Duncan, who secured the first team spot unanimously.

While Duncan’s placement on the first team is difficult to argue against, Antetokounmpo’s spot on the second team is certainly something to marvel at. As one of the most dominant players in the league over the past decade, Antetokounmpo has cemented his legacy.

Arguably the greatest Buck of all time, Antetokounmpo’s 2021 NBA title and Finals MVP helped him ascend into a tier that he had been desperately trying to reach in years past. Although Milwaukee’s lack of postseason success since has kept Antetokounmpo from truly challenging Duncan as the league’s top power forward since 2000, his MVP-caliber play each season has helped him build his stats to eventually climb the all-time leaderboards.
