Leeds United could enter Monday night with a completely different group of strikers from last season. The transfer window has seen huge changes in that department and we could see even more.
Last season, Leeds had Joel Piroe as their main striker, with Patrick Bamford and Mateo Joseph as backups. Piroe ended up playing almost every one of the 46 league games. This summer, Lukas Nmecha was brought in, expected to provide some competition for Piroe.

That was one big move, but Leeds soon saw Mateo Joseph being loaned out. Patrick Bamford has also been dropped from the squad ahead of next season. Daniel Farke has hinted that a new striker could be added to the team:
”I wouldn’t rule out another striker signing because you always have to be awake until the last second if there is an opportunity. There are a few doubts due to the injury records of Dominic and Lukas. I wouldn’t rule it out…”

Aleksandar Mitrovic told to choose move to Leeds United

The week before Dominic Calvert-Lewin put pen to paper, Aleksandar Mitrovic dominated the headlines. Reports claimed that the striker’s representatives had reached out to teams in England, including Leeds, over a move.
It has been days, and the Serbian is still with Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia. Mick Brown of Football Insider has advised the former Fulham man to choose a move to Elland Road, as a deal with Spurs would be impossible:
“Mitrovic scores goals and he’s got a good track record in the Premier League.
“There isn’t an abundance of strikers available, so it’s difficult for Spurs to find somebody.
“So he’s been one that has been mentioned, but I would be surprised if they made a move for him, I think they’ll look at some of their other options.
“He’s been linked with Leeds as well, which I think would be a better move for him.
“I think he’s a bit of a risk, and teams like Leeds could be tempted to take that risk whereas Tottenham will want somebody more reliable and dependable.
“So for Tottenham, I think Mitrovic is a non-starter.”
Striker still wants move to England
Per Graeme Bailey, it is possible that Aleksandar Mitrovic returns to England. But the striker will only choose a move to a Premier League club. This comes after Championship side Birmingham City were linked with a move for the 30-year old.
With the arrival of Darwin Nunez from Liverpool, the Serbian’s future is still up in the air. A move could be on the cards soon.
