Brentford striker Yoane Wissa has taken the drastic step of unfollowing the Bees on Instagram, turning his profile picture to black and removing all club photos from his account as he looks to force a move away from the west London outfit.
The Bees' club record £42m signing of Dango Ouattara from Bournemouth last week was expected to clear the way for the Congo international to secure a move to Newcastle.
However, reports on Monday indicated that the Bees have now considerably increased their valuation of the 28-year-old to £60m+, having reportedly been willing to let him depart for around £40m.
Indeed, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, in addition to being assured that Brentford would entertain a sale weeks ago, Wissa was also told last year that he could leave this summer for around £26m after remaining at the Gtech Community Stadium following Ivan Toney's departure to Al-Ahli.
Furthermore, the reporter has claimed that the Bees now insist that Ouattara is a replacement for Bryan Mbeumo, who joined Manchester United earlier this summer, and another forward will need to be recruited in order to sanction Wissa's sale.
Wissa has just a year left on his contract but the Bees have the option to extend it by a further year until 2027.

Newcastle saw a £25million bid for the forward rejected by Brentford last month.
Wissa scored 19 goals and claimed five assists in the league last season for Brentford.
He wants to join Newcastle, meaning that personal terms are not thought to be an issue should a fee be agreed.
The Magpies still want another forward after Wissa and are working on targets, amid uncertainty surrounding the future of Alexander Isak.
Wissa has missed much of Brentford's pre-season after leaving their training camp in Portugal on July 21.
Wissa returned to training last week following talks with head coach Keith Andrews.
He was not part of the Bees squad that suffered a demoralising 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
