Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku’s potential transfer to Bayern Munich appears close to collapse. Despite weeks of talks, both clubs remain at odds over the structure of a deal, leaving the Frenchman almost certain to stay in London for at least another season.
Chelsea reject Bayern’s loan approach
Chelsea have made their position clear: they will only sanction a permanent exit. The Blues value Nkunku at around €50 million (£43m) and have already turned down Bayern’s proposal of a loan deal. Club officials are keen to secure a sale to raise funds and reshape the squad, with ambitious new attacking targets under ongoing discussion.
Bayern, however, remain unwilling to fully commit to a permanent transfer fee. Their sporting directors have so far pushed hard for a loan with an option or obligation to buy, which Chelsea view as completely unacceptable. According to fresh reports in The Times and Bild, this growing gap has brought tough negotiations to a frustrating standstill.
🚨⚠️ Christopher Nkunku's transfer to Bayern is at risk of falling through. At the moment he will stay in London for at least another year. This news was conveyed by agent Pini Zahavi to Bayern today after a meeting with the Chelsea bosses.

Zahavi signals stay in London
Nkunku’s agent, Pini Zahavi, informed Bayern that his client expects to remain at Stamford Bridge for at least another year. While personal terms with the Bundesliga champions were not an obstacle, Chelsea’s firm stance has left the German side frustrated.
Reports say Bayern remain optimistic and continue exploring fresh formulas. Insiders warn the deal looks seriously jeopardized unless Bayern change course quickly. The player himself is open to the switch, yet the financial structure continues to block meaningful progress between the clubs.

With the transfer window closing in less than two weeks, Bayern must decide whether to meet Chelsea’s demands or walk away. Nkunku’s situation underlines how Premier League clubs are holding firm on valuations in a tight market. Unless Bayern act fast, Nkunku looks set to continue in blue this season once again.
