Former NFL Player Sounds Off On Packers’ Preseason Performance

The Green Bay Packers will be under a lot of pressure this season.

Matt LaFleur and Jordan Love have to prove they can handle contending teams, not just bad teams.

That’s why former Packers quarterback Kurt Benkert has been disappointed with what they’ve shown so far, even after defeating the Indianapolis Colts.

“I don’t care that it’s preseason. The product the Packers have put on the field looks disgusting. The games don’t matter but have some pride in the performance at least a LITTLE bit,” Benkert wrote on X.

You always have to take everything with a grain of salt when it comes to the preseason.

Then again, there are some reasons to be worried.

The Packers are dealing with multiple injuries on offense, and it’s hard to believe they’ll all be ready to go for the season opener.

Love recently returned to practice after injuring his thumb and having surgery, and he’s not likely to play in the preseason finale against the Seattle Seahawks.

The same goes for several of their pass catchers, and running back MarShawn Lloyd is dealing with a hamstring injury.

All things considered, the Packers do have all the tools they need to make a deep postseason run.

However, while LaFleur has drawn plenty of praise for what he’s done, the fans have every right to demand better results in big moments.

The Packers have time to clean things up, but no one should get the benefit of the doubt in Green Bay anymore.
