Giannis Antetokounmpo confirmed to play vs. Latvia

Giannis Antetokounmpo is cleared to play in his first FIBA EuroBasket 2025 preparation game with Greece against Latvia on Wednesday (August 20).

Greece will finally get to see Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo make his debut for the national team this summer in a FIBA EuroBasket 2025 friendly game.

According to the official announcement by the Greek Basketball Federation, Giannis will play in Greece's preparation game against Kristaps Porzingis' Latvia on Wednesday, August 20, in Athens.

Antetokounmpo has yet to make his debut for Greece this summer. Earlier, it was reported that his absence from the first preparation games was due to unpaid insurance by the Hellenic Basketball Federation.

Greece will play three games to conclude their preparation for EuroBasket 2025, starting with matches against Latvia (August 20) and Italy (August 22) at the Acropolis Tournament, followed by a final tune-up against France (August 24) before the EuroBasket.
