WHAT HAPPENED?
According to The Sun, Chelsea offered Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, whom they valued at around £30 million ($40.5m), and an extra £20m ($27m) for West Ham's Kudus earlier this summer. However, the Hammers rejected the offer, as they valued Dewsbury-Hall at around £20m, and Kudus ended up signing for Tottenham for £55m ($75m).

If Chelsea had snapped up Kudus, that may have stopped them from pursuing Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho. So far, the 25-year-old has had a promising start to life at Spurs, something the Blues may look ruefully at. Incidentally, Dewsbury-Hall ended up joining Everton for approximately £25m ($33m) earlier this month.

The report adds that the Ghana international was high on Chelsea's list of targets and the player had already agreed personal terms with Enzo Maresca's side. But Tottenham's swift pursuit got them over the line with this one.
