The Kansas City Chiefs are one of the favorites to find their way back into the Super Bowl mix this season. However, they could be without a crucial piece on the defensive side of the ball for the entire season after the most recent injury report came out.
The Chiefs have one of the top defenses on an annual basis, and having players who can rotate in with the starters while not dropping in production is critical. With the most recent injury report suggesting an underrated member on the 53-man roster could miss the entire season, things have taken a bad turn after the second preseason game.
Let’s take a closer look at what we know right now and what it means going forward for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Felix Anudike-Uzomah is not a name that many non-Kansas City Chiefs fans would immediately recognize, but he was a solid player in the defensive end rotation last season. However, coach Andy Reid said the 2023 first-round pick could wind up having his season ended early with a strained hamstring injury on Saturday. He played in all 17 games (three starts) last season and recorded 27 combined tackles (16 solo, 11 assisted), six tackles for loss, seven quarterback hits, one forced fumble, 2.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery.
If he is placed on Injured Reserve, it would mean his 2025 season is over due to the hamstring injury he suffered against the Seattle Seahawks in the second preseason game. It will be interesting to see if Anudike-Uzomah is able to avoid this happening or if the hamstring strain is too severe to recover at any point this season.
With the Kansas City Chiefs looking to get revenge for their Super Bowl loss, it will be interesting to see if the season is officially over for Felix Anudike-Uzomah. Expect this to mean more snaps for third-round rookie Ashton Gillotte as a result.
