The Lakers' projected starting lineup for the new 2025-26 season features Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, LeBron James, Rui Hachimura, and Deandre Ayton.
The Los Angeles Lakers made some important moves this offseason to strengthen their roster. They acquired wing Jake LaRavia, signed center Deandre Ayton, and added guard Marcus Smart.
According to Lakers Daily, head coach JJ Redick has already settled on his starting five for the new season: Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, LeBron James, Rui Hachimura, and Ayton.
The only change from last year's lineup is at center, with Ayton replacing Jaxson Hayes, who stepped into the starting role after Anthony Davis was traded.
The second unit is expected to feature Gabe Vincent, Smart, Jarred Vanderbilt, LaRavia, and Hayes.
Meanwhile, Dan Woike of The Athletic reports that the Lakers are likely to stand pat heading into training camp.
Moving veterans such as Maxi Kleber or Vincent would cost valuable draft assets without a clear upgrade in return, so the front office prefers to evaluate the team during the season before considering additional trades.
