Forest overcome West Ham in PL2

A single goal from Archie Whitehall was enough for Nottingham Forest’s B Team to secure a first win in the Premier League 2 against West Ham United at Rush Green this evening.

The Forest midfielder slotted home after a miscue in the Hammers’ box for the only goal of the game.

The Reds are next in action on Friday evening when Warren Joyce’s side welcome Arsenal to Loughborough.

After a tight opening in London, Forest struck when Whitehall seized on a mishap in the West Ham defence to give the Reds an early lead.

Adam Berry almost doubled our advantage on the half hour mark when his free-kick was tipped round the post by the West Ham ‘keeper.

Forest held the lead into the half time break, and remained resolute in the second period, restricting the home side in their chances, while looking to create on the break.

Forest held on to claim maximum points against the Hammers to ger the 2025/26 PL2 campaign off to the best start.
