Tottenham Hotspur talent Mikey Moore is keen to use his loan at Rangers as a stepping stone to stardom
Mikey Moore was one of the positive aspects of the very mixed 2024-25 season that Tottenham Hotspur had, in which they won the UEFA Europa League, but finished 17th in the Premier League. After making his debut in the 2023-24 season, the 18-year-old played 10 Premier League games, and another 5 UEFA Europa League games, with the first team last season.
Although he lost prominence in the latter parts of the campaign, there is still no doubt about the potential and the talent that he has. However, at this stage of his career, it is important for him to continue having quality game time to continue developing as a player.
For this purpose, he made a move to the Scottish side Rangers this summer, after signing a new long-term contract with Spurs. Moore has now already made his debut for the Scottish side, as he got on the pitch for the 4-2 win over Alloa in the Premier Sports Cup. He made this debut memorable by setting up the opening goal scored by Nedim Bajrami for his side.
The youngster talks about his aspirations
As per a report from Daily Mail, the youngster talked to the media after this game, and expressed his excitement on playing for Rangers on this season-long loan.
Talking about his aspirations, the youngster said:
“It’s massive for me… I want to go and play in the biggest competitions and I want to be one of the best players in the world, hopefully.
I’ve signed a new contract at Spurs, but, at the minute, I’m focused on playing here. I’m just buzzing to go and play some massive games at this football club.”

Moore went on to highlight what he wants from this loan move:
“I want to become a better player here and I think there are massive opportunities… I just want to play as many games as possible, score as many goals and excite as many people as I can.”
The youngster also mentioned how his UEFA Europa League experiences with Tottenham will help him this season:
“It was a really good season in Europe for me and for the team, so I’ve had some good experiences and I’m ready to go and show more. I want to go and make more of an impact on a European stage.”
With the way he played in his debut, there is a lot of reason to hope that this loan to Rangers would be a very fruitful one for Mikey Moore. Hopefully, he will further polish his attacking skills and make improvements in other aspects of his game before returning to Tottenham and becoming a formal first team player.
The youngster certainly has the minerals to make it big. However, with the likes of Mohammed Kudus and potentially Eberechi Eze and Savinho coming in, his chances of regular playing time under Thomas Frank would have been limited. The loan move offers him the opportunity to play regularly and fast track his development. His ambitions are clear, now it is time to back it up on the field.
