While much of the attention on Kansas City Chiefs superstars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce has been focused on the upcoming NFL season, the duo has some exciting off-field news.
Back in March 2024, Mahomes and Kelce teamed up for a business venture in Kansas City, opening a steakhouse called “1587 Prime”, named after their jersey numbers.
After a year of development and bringing the concept to life inside the Loews Kansas City Hotel, the restaurant finally has an official opening date. On Monday, the news was revealed via a video showing Kelce and Mahomes taste-testing the menu ahead of the grand opening on Sept. 17.

The restaurant is set to be a modern American steakhouse, featuring live music, two floors, a two-story entrance designed to resemble the tunnel of an NFL stadium, a 20-seat central bar, and private dining rooms.
Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes have spent their entire NFL careers with the Chiefs and have consistently given joy back to the community through their on-and off-field successes.

Mahomes discussed the idea behind the steakhouse he and Kelce are opening in Kansas City, emphasizing that it’s meant to be a place that brings everyone together.
“We don’t want to make it too upscale, too high-priced so that not everybody can go,” Mahomes said during an interview with Fox4KC. “We want it to be a place where Kansas City can call it home, and where everyone can come and really enjoy it.”
He added, “We always see these restaurants and we have a love for bringing people together. I think the biggest thing for us is we’re gonna do whatever we can to keep bringing people together, and what better place than Kansas City? Hopefully we can win some games at Arrowhead Stadium and then go over and have a few drinks and some food with it.”
