After a quite offseason, Matthew Judon finally found a team to call home.
The free agent linebacker agreed to a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins that can reach up to $6 million, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
The contract comes after Judon had a successful visit with Miami on Monday.
The New England Patriots traded Judon to the Atlanta Falcons in 2024 after a public contract dispute, but he couldn’t find consistency with his new team. Through the first 10 games, Judon amassed just 1.5 sacks.
Judon joins a Dolphins team that includes fellow edge rushers Bradley Chubb, Jaelan Phillips and Chop Robinson, but the trio have dealt with injuries over the last few seasons. Phillips tore his Achilles in 2023, Chubb missed all of 2024 due to a torn ACL suffered late in 2023 and Robinson suffered a rib injury earlier this summer. It’s not believed to be serious.
It won’t take long for Judon to reunite with his former Patriots team in 2025. Miami is set to host New England in Week 2.
