ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - While competing for a roster spot on the Seattle Seahawks, Brandon Pili came up with one of the biggest plays of his career.
In the second quarter of Seattle’s preseason game with the Kansas City Chiefs, Pili was the first through the defensive line and stuffed running back Elijah Mitchell in Kansas City’s end zone for a huge safety that fired up the Seahawks sideline and the 68,614 fans at Lumen Field in a 33-16 win.
Pili, of Dimond High fame, was signed by Seattle in November after being cut by Miami. The 6-foot-3, 334 lb. defensive tackle is looking to make Seattle’s final 53-man roster in his third NFL season. He has recorded three tackles and one tackle for a loss that resulted in the safety through two preseason games.
The Seahawks will visit Lambeau Field to play the Packers August 23 for their third and final preseason game.
