Transfer news LIVE: Arsenal ready for Eze breakthrough; Liverpool set Isak deadline; Simons to Chelsea twist

Eberechi Eze, Alexander Isak and Xavi Simons could all be on the move before the transfer window closes

Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are all aiming to complete some big deals before the summer transfer window closes. The Gunners look set to miss out on the signing of Eberechi Eze as bitter rivals Tottenham are firmly in the driver's seat. However, they have been handed a potential boost regarding a move for Real Madrid star Rodrygo.

Liverpool took their spending this summer past the £300million mark with a deal for central defender Giovanni Leoni over the weekend but the champions are still being linked with further additions - most notably Alexander Isak and Marc Guehi - and have raised a further £25m thanks to the sale of Ben Doak.

Man United's interest in Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba was thought to have cooled because of the asking price, but it has been reported that a deal could be revived. Elsewhere, Chelsea are in talks to sell Nicolas Jackson and have been set an ultimatum by RB Leipzig for Xavi Simons. Meanwhile Spurs have suffered a blow in their pursuit of Man City winger Savinho. RB Leipzig have warned Chelsea that Xavi Simons will remain at the club unless they receive an offer worth at least £60million (€70million) this summer.

The Netherlands international has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge over the past few weeks and has already reached an agreement on personal terms.

Furthermore, despite interest from the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester City, Simons has even informed Leipzig that he only wants to join Chelsea this summer.

However, German outlet Kicker have revealed that Leipzig will not reduce their £60m (€70m) asking price.

Leipzig’s sporting director Marcel Schafer said: “We make all our decisions based on sporting and financial considerations. If it suits everyone, we have often facilitated player transfers in the past.

As per Polish outlet Meczyki, Porto had a loan with an obligation-to-buy offer earlier in the summer turned down by Arsenal but remain determined to win the race with AC Milan for his signature.
