The future of Federico Chiesa has been one of the summer’s biggest talking points for Liverpool fans.
The Italian winger was linked with a move away after a frustrating debut season filled with injuries and limited minutes.
At one point, he even considered leaving Anfield to boost his national team chances. But the story has now taken a twist.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chiesa has told Liverpool he wants to stay. His agent has also made it clear:
“Federico Chiesa wants to stay at Liverpool. His agent also informed Liverpool that the desire of the player is to stay, is not to negotiate with Italian clubs anymore, but is to stay at Liverpool, compete and fight for his place.”

Chiesa considered to leave in June/July when #LFC rejected bids for Diaz and Federico was left out of Asian tour.

The timing of this decision is no coincidence. Liverpool sold Luis Díaz to Bayern Munich and did not bring in a replacement, leaving a gap on the wing.
Chiesa now finds himself competing mainly with Cody Gakpo for that role. He reminded everyone of his ability last weekend, coming off the bench to score the winner against Bournemouth. A timely strike, and perhaps the start of a new chapter.

Should Liverpool keep Chiesa this summer?
Chiesa sell or keep
On paper, keeping him makes sense. Signed for just £10 million, Chiesa is still only 27 and can play across the frontline. His main issue has been fitness, not talent.
He has played less than 500 minutes since joining, but when fit, he offers pace, direct running, and a clinical edge. Liverpool’s squad is already light in wide areas, so letting him go now could be a gamble.
The ball is firmly in Liverpool’s court. They must decide whether to trust Chiesa to stay fit and deliver or cut ties before another injury setback. For now, though, it seems both sides are ready to give it another go.
Chiesa is staying put. The Kop has a new song to sing, and the winger has one more chance to dance on the Anfield stage.
