Jack Harrison’s incredible gesture away from the TV cameras after Leeds United’s win over Everton

Jack Harrison is making efforts to win over the Leeds United fanbase after returning from his loan spell with Everton.

For most Leeds United fans, Jack Harrison is someone without a future at the club after choosing to activate the clause following Leeds’ relegation back in 2023.

However, he came off the bench and played the final 12 minutes against Everton. Coincidentally, the club he was loaned to for two seasons. He entered the pitch at the same time as the match-winner, Lukas Nmecha, too.

It’s been reported previously byLeeds United News in an exclusive that Leeds could yet retain Jack Harrison this summer and reintegrate him in the same way that Brenden Aaronson and Max Wober have been previously by Daniel Farke.

On the current evidence, that looks like being the case. Harrison has also taken on the No.20 shirt after wearing the No.38 throughout pre-season with Leeds.

It’s fair to say, with the winger having a contract until 2028 at Elland Road, Leeds have a ‘problem’ with Harrison in that sense. He is not an easy player to shift, even if Leeds’ desire is to do so.

That is why Graham Smyth doesn’t think anyone will buy Harrison. His wages are large and he has a long contract. Leeds might have to utilise him this season.

In many ways, Harrison’s experience could be a real bonus. David Moyes praised Harrison pre-match, but Harrison is a Premier League player with a number of top flight games under his belt.

Many of the fanbase have made their feelings known and made it clear via the booing Harrison received from Leeds fans against Man United in pre-season. That was still heard against the Toffees somewhat.

Harrison put drinks behind a Leeds bar pre-match, but he has gone further in showcasing his good will towards supporters in attempts to rekindle the relationship they once had.

Twitter/X user Ifan Jones posted a video of Harrison after the game vs Everton. The footage appears to show the winger handing a young fan his shirt.

Harrison has showcased his quality at this level previously, even if he flattered to deceive with two campaigns at Goodison Park.

When utilised as a left-sided winger, Harrison’s output appears to be much more consistent. That isn’t to say it’s excellent, but he regularly had goals and assists compared with his time at Everton.

It will take more than a few drinks being bought or a shirt handed out, but he evidently wants to build bridges with the supporters once again.
