After 10 years at the club, Wolves sporting director Matt Hobbs left the club at the start of the summer window, and now he is close to joining Crystal Palace with one player rumoured to be following him to South London.
Matt Hobbs spent the past decade working for Wolves across several roles, including chief scout, head of recruitment, and eventually sporting director.
His departure was of his own volition, with Wolves reportedly keen on Hobbs staying at the club as they restructured recruitment.

But he departed to seek a new challenge. Now, Crystal Palace look set to hire and Hobbs already has a Wolves man on his shopping list
Matt Hobbs wants to bring Hwang Hee Chan to Crystal Palace
Reported by talkSPORT’s Alex Crook, Hobbs has his eye on Wolves attacker Hwang Hee Chan as a replacement of sorts for Eberechi Eze, who is being pursued by Arsenal and Spurs.
A deal for Hwang would most likely be a loan move. The South Korean has a contract with Wolves until 2028, but he has been linked with a move away all summer.
Birmingham City were interested in Hwang, though he wasn’t too excited about dropping down a division.

However, Wolves have maintained they are open to Hwang leaving, and now a move could be in the works as Hobbs looks to put his stamp on this Palace side in a difficult moment, as stars are linked with exits.
Wolves have to line up a replacement if Hwang is to leave
Before the news broke about Hwang possibly leaving, it looked like another attacker would be needed at the club.
If he is to go, that need becomes unequivocal. Fabio Silva will likely leave Wolves, and so if Hwang also exits, the forward line becomes incredibly bare.

Sasa Kalajdzic could become the number two option, but relying on him to stay healthy feels like a gamble Wolves can’t afford. David Datro Fofana was linked to Wolves, though that has quietened down.
Vitor Pereira’s three requested signings would turn into four, and it would start to get a bit worrying if so much was left to do with just under two weeks left to sign so many new players.
