Manchester United have eyes on Palace midfielder Adam Wharton
Nonetheless, Ruben Amorim and co. are still exploring the market and according to a report by TBR Football, they have established interest in Crystal Palace’s holding midfielder, Adam Wharton.
The report further states that United sent scouts to Stamford Bridge over the weekend to keenly observe the play of Wharton during the club’s season opener against Chelsea.
If it is indeed the case, then considering the fact that Crystal Palace were able to extract a point by holding the Blues to a 0-0 draw and Wharton had a role to play in it, the United scouts might likely be impressed.
Wharton won four duels and got dispossessed only once during the game.
Adam Wharton has been linked with Manchester United for considerable time now, but Crystal Palace are unlikely to let him go without demanding a substantial fee. Earlier this summer, the Daily Mail reported that Palace would not consider selling the 21-year-old for less than £60 million.
Thus, only time will tell whether Manchester United will engage in serious talks to secure a deal for Wharton.
United, who finished 15th last season in the EPL, did not have an ideal start to the 2025/26 season. The team lost to arch-rivals Arsenal 0-1 in its opening game of the season. However, many experts and fans were fascinated by the way they played the match and are optimistic about the future results. Man United will next take on Fulham in the league on Sunday, August 24.
