West Ham midfielder Edson Alvarez was snubbed in their opening day defeat to Sunderland, and he could now leave the London Stadium.
Alvarez missed most of pre-season as he was on duty with the Mexico National Team, but his future now appears to be away from the London Stadium.
Karren Brady has claimed that West Ham will try to add more pace to their midfield, which was a key component in their dismal defeat to Sunderland, with Alvarez lounging on the bench.
Alvarez joined West Ham in 2023, but just two years later, he will bid farewell as he no longer features in Graham Potter’s plans.

Alvarez to join Fenerbahce
Alvarez is set to join Turkish side Fenerbahce on a loan deal with an option to buy, and a deal could be completed on Tuesday, Fabrizio Romano says.
MORE WEST HAM STORIES
The 27-year-old joined West Ham for around £35million in 2023, and the Hammers now look set to make a significant loss on him.
However, the loan will allow them to clear his £100,000 per week salary off the wage bill, and this could help make room for another midfielder to come in.
Alvarez made just 20 Premier League starts last season, as injuries hampered his progress and other players were preferred.
The Mexico star has made 73 appearances for West Ham in total, scoring twice.
West Ham have had a frustrating transfer window so far, and their defeat to Sunderland showed exactly how far behind their competitors they are.
The departure of Alvarez should almost certainly mean a midfielder is set to join; otherwise, Potter would be short of both depth and quality.
His exit may also mean that Freddie Potts receives more opportunities in midfield after an impressive loan spell at Portsmouth.

Alvarez a failed transfer for West Ham
West Ham have operated poorly in the transfer market for a very long time, and Alvarez is another example of the financial mistakes they have made.
Although he did impress on occasion, Alvarez failed to live up to his hefty price tag after he joined from Ajax to help replace former captain Declan Rice.
West Ham will now have to replace him, and targeting a midfielder who can more legs to this ageing midfield roster will be the best way forward for Potter.
