Leeds United winger faces ‘uncertain’ future amid Noah Okafor transfer - Beren Cross

Leeds United want a few forwards before the deadline and both Manor Solomon and Noah Okafor have both been mentioned as options.

Noah Okafor is a forward who can be deployed as a centre-forward or as more of a wide forward and natural winger for Leeds United, while Manor Solomon links to Leeds refuse to go away.

Leeds United News first called Leeds having some Okafor interest. It was then stated by The Athletic’s Beren Cross that Milan’s Okafor was being looked at by Leeds ahead of the transfer deadline.

Okafor and Solomon could both be signed with James Justin, which would mean 11 new faces for Daniel Farke and the 49ers. Solomon wants the move to Leeds, but it’s Okafor who is closest to arriving at Elland Road.

Beren Cross’ Largie Ramazani verdict

Of course, Leeds already have the likes of Dan James, Willy Gnonto, Largie Ramazani, and Jack Harrison as their wide options. Therefore, signing two more in that area would surely mean an exit for one.

Beren Cross of The Athletic does not think that is likely to be Harrison. He said: “my gut feeling is he will still be here, yes. It’s almost a coin flip, though.

“I think both parties know they would be better off separating, but they need a third party to be interested and meet their demands on the financial and competition side. That hasn’t materialised yet and the window closes in a fortnight.”

He then added his thoughts on Solomon: “It seems to be the topic which has been on the agenda since he secured the title in May. It’s hard to call because I can see both sides of the debate.

“As it stands, it looks like Noah Okafor is the most likely winger to land at the club. Do they then think they could facilitate another?”

The question would then centre around other exits, and the underutilised Leeds winger Ramazani. Cross added: “There is some uncertainty about what happens with Ramazani before the window closes.

“If he went out on loan, and there is no current suggestion that will happen, it would take them down to four again. In that scenario, would Farke and Leeds say no at the 11th hour to another cost-effective loan for a winger they know well (Solomon)?

“I’d wager they’d take him in that very specific scenario. As it stands though, there is no chatter about anything advancing with Solomon.”

Largie Ramazani transfer interest amid clearer Leeds pecking order position

Tony Dorigo believes Ramazani needed a strong pre-season, but already failing to feature against Everton is perhaps a damning sign for the Belgian winger.

In pre-season, Ramazani enjoyed featuring with Gabriel Gudmundsson on the same flank already. However, it appears that numerous other wingers are ahead of him, including Jack Harrison.

Transfer interest hasn’t been plentiful yet but Ramazani has already turned down Aris Thessaloniki, a Greek outfit. You have to imagine that a more significant offer would be a consideration for the 24-year-old.
